Cameron's NUFLO™ developed its first flowmeter for oilfield applications in 1957. The meter incorporated a tungsten-carbide shaft and bearing to withstand the rugged conditions of the oilfield environment. Over the years, this flow meter has built an unsurpassed reputation for withstanding severe punishment while maintaining operational and measurement integrity.

NUFLO turbine flow meters indicate flow rate and measure total throughput of a liquid line. As liquid flows through the meter and over the rotor, the rotor turns at a speed that is directly proportional to the flow rate. A magnetic pickup senses the rotor blades as they pass and generates an electrical (sine wave) signal. These electrical pulses are then transmitted to the flow measurement readout equipment.

Optional rotor configurations and/or finishes allow erosive or corrosive fluids such as mud or cement slurries and hydrochloric acid to be pumped routinely.

Flanged End Connection

Turbine flow meters with flanged end connections are available in both raised-face (RF) models and ring-type joint (RTJ) models. Flanged materials can be carbon steel or stainless steel. All flanged NUFLO meters are equipped with slip-on flanges, which are then welded to the outside of the meter rather than being welded to the end of the meter body. Thus, the flange never comes into contact with the fluid being measured. The flanges are designed to mate with ANSI B16.5 flanges.

Grooved End Connection

Flowmeters with grooved end connections are available in 7/8" through 8" sizes.

EZ-IN End Connection

Series BF turbine flow meters with EZ-IN connections provide a cost-effective alternative to typical flanged-meter applications. Series BF meters with EZ-IN connections offer the accuracy, rugged construction, and maintenance-free operation of conventional NUFLO flow meters plus the following advantages:

·         Lower installation cost

·         Less expensive than a conventional, flanged meter

·         Spreader nuts enable easy removal and inspection

·         The raised-face EZ-IN meter will mate to any flange rated ANSI 150# to 1500#. The ring-joint (RTJ) version will mate to ANSI 900#, 1500# or 2500# RTJ flange (specify flange type when ordering)

·         CE-marked 8" x 8" EZ-IN RF requires special centering rings

WECO 1502 Union End Connection

Cameron's NUFLO™ 1502 WECO® union liquid turbine flowmeter incorporates a tungsten-carbide shaft and bearings to withstand the rugged conditions of the oilfield environment. Over the years, this flow meter has earned an unsurpassed reputation for with-standing sever punishment while maintaining operational and measurement integrity. Flow meters with 1502 end connections are commonly used in high-pressure oilwell service applications. Meter sizes 1”, 1-1/2” and 2” have 2” union end connections with a wing nut on one end and thread on the other end. The 3" meters have 3" union end connections with the option of a wing nut on one end and thread on the other, or threads on both ends. All 1502 union end meters have two pickup adapters.

Cameron's NUFLO™ gas turbine flow meters feature a transducer that utilizes a lightweight, low inertia rotor to sense gas velocity. It offers an output frequency that has a linear relationship to gas velocity over a wide flow range.

The meter tracks the flow rate continuously, offers little resistance to flow and has a unique cartridge design that allows removal of all internal parts as one assembly. The meter exhibits little sensitivity to gas density above two atmospheres pressure. The low inertia of the rotor and vee bearings allows overranging of the meter to twice its rated capacity without damage for intermittent flow variations. 

Designed for maximum life, carbide rotor shaft and bearings require no lubrication. The cartridge assembly makes replacement and inspection of parts easy. The meter is designed for installation between two flanges. The digital pulse output generated by the Gas Turbine Flowmeter can be fed to companion readout devices capable of providing direct measurement of flow rate and accumulated throughput. These measurements can be automatically pressure-and/or temperature-compensated to obtain volumetric measurements in standard units

Cameron BARTON® 7400 series precision turbine meters are designed for gas service in a wide range of industrial, commercial, pipeline, and aerospace applications. Because the output from the pickup coil is digital, BARTON 7000 series meters are a perfect match for electronic output devices — no A/D conversion required. The rotor response is in milliseconds, providing precise metering in rapidly changing flow pattern applications.
